Friday 17th August began with Ian, Paul, Sean, Andy and Ant starting the long journey down to Silverstone Race Circuit for the Silverstone leg of The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC2018). Over the weekend there was a huge amount of action with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso to name just two famous drivers battling it out for the race win. Drone Racing

That is right not only was there endurance racing action at Silverstone, but Mako Create Drone Racing made its debut in our brand new Drone Racing Marquee. Throughout the weekend, fans both young and old were taught a crash course in drone racing. Our marquee was fully kitted out with a drone race circuit, televisions for people to see all the action, a screen displaying lap times and a merchandise table. The drones we use have a first-person camera to allow the pilots a drone angle instead of just relying on a line of sight to fly the drone. Once the participants had completed the practice laps it was time for glory…… a timed lap around the course!!

People were competing to set the fastest lap of the weekend. The hugely popular attraction had a huge amount of people revisiting throughout the course of the weekend to have another attempt at the challenging circuit as it was fun, new and exciting. The lucky pilots who completed the gruelling circuit received a MakoCreate pilot pin badge and the chance to lift the converted MakoCreate Trophy.
