Code-A-Drone – Family Activity

Mako Create’s Code-A-Drone workshop gets you hands-on with drones and coding in a fun, creative and safe environment.

During this activity, young people and their parent/guardian(s) will learn how to code a mini-drone to take off, fly, turn, do stunts and land safely. Once the training is complete you are set a range of drone flying challenges that put your coding skills to the test.

Who is this course for?

We are looking for families from the Crewe area who have an interest in working together on a creative coding challenge. No previous coding or drone flying experience is necessary.

Our Code-a-Drone activity is ideal for those aged 8+. Younger participants are welcome too, although they may need more support throughout the session from the adult accompanying them.

* All young attendees must be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian. Places are free but limited, each young person must have their own session ticket.*

What you’ll learn:

  • How to write fundamental block code
  • How to plot and code a drone flight path
