Creative Design for Digital Marketing Course

Duration: 7 Weeks
Running on a Thursdays – Dates: 04.11.2021, 11.11.2021, 18.11.2021, 25.11.2021, 02.12.2021, 09.12.2021, 16.12.2021.
Time: 10am-11am (Week 1), 10am-12pm (Weeks 2-7)
Location: Upton Community Centre, Hough Green Road, Widnes, WA8 4PF 

Course Overview:

This course is for learners who are interested in gaining a basic understanding of marketing and audiences across digital platforms. Great if you are interested in developing creative skills, setting up your own business, developing your skills for a future job, further education or career opportunities.

  • Developing Brand Awareness
  • How to Identify and Research Competitors 
  • Introduction To Marketing Platforms
  • Creating Basic Graphics for Online Marketing Materials
  • Industry expert guest speaker (Q&A)
  • Identifying career paths in Digital Marketing


This course consists of 7 weekly sessions; the first is 1 hour long (to allow for enrolment), and the remaining 6 sessions are 2 hours each.

How Will I Be Assessed?

This is a non-accredited course, however, linked to the Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA) framework you will be expected to build up a portfolio that will be assessed by your tutor against the course criteria.

There will be a variety of activities and it is a great opportunity to meet new people. You will be given supportive feedback from your tutor on a weekly basis to help you develop your skills. 

During these sessions, you will be encouraged to further enhance your skills and knowledge outside of the classroom, by completing the iDEA (inspiring digital enterprise award) award Silver.

What Are The Entry Requirements?

You will be required to complete some written work as part of this course which will require a good basic understanding of English and Maths. You will also need to be able to work on multiple tabs on a computer at once and have a good basic understanding of using different software packages such as Word (Microsoft), Google docs, Pages (Mac OS), internet browsers etc. 

Participants will be required to set up online social network accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) and accounts on other online marketing systems (e.g. Email Marketing, Graphic Editing Apps, Social Media Management Tools). You will not be able to complete the course without this – but we will advise you which accounts you will need during the course.

Who is Eligible to Apply for a Place?

To be eligible to apply for this course you must:

  1. Live in Halton Borough – Cheshire
  2. Be aged 19+
  3. Be unemployed
  4. Legally a resident in the UK and able to take up paid employment in an EU member state

Are there any Technical Requirements?

All technology and equipment will be provided for the sessions by our delivery partners, so you just need to turn up. Please feel free to bring a pen and notepad with you to take notes.

All of the sessions are completely free of charge thanks to funding from the European Social Fund.

In fact, we will give you a £30 Amazon voucher for successfully completing* the course!

(*successful completion means attending all 6 weeks and completing all work and ILP’s.)

What Will This Course Lead To?

This is an excellent course to support you in exploring and gaining basic creative digital marketing skills to help in the setup and development of a business venture or project. 

The course will also support the development of skills for future employment or should you wish to look at further education or career opportunities within the field of creative digital marketing.
