Video Game Design
This project is part of our Creative, Digital & Wellbeing activities in Halton, funded by Halton Borough Council.
During this six-week project participants will develop video game designing skills, with a particular focus on team-working and wellbeing while working towards creative goals. They will also learn about possible pathways into creative careers and get inspiration for other future endeavours.
The range of activities on offer includes:
- Character Design (Hero and Enemies)
- Character Animation
- Level Design
- Using Keys and Doors
- Adding Narrative to Tell a Story
- Publishing Your Games for Others To Enjoy
Who can get involved?
We are looking for young people from Halton aged 10-18 who have an interest in video game design, programming, and creative careers.
There are a maximum of 12 places available for participants in this project.
When does the project start?
This project is made up of 6 weekly 2 hour sessions. The sessions will be held after-school on Mondays from 4:00pm-6:00pm:

- 13th June
- 20th June
- 27th June
- 4th July
- 11th July
Where will the sessions take place?
The sessions will take place at Grangeway Youth & Community Centre, Grangeway, Runcorn WA7 5LY, UK
What equipment should I bring?
Mako Create will bring all of the equipment needed to participate in this session.
