Video Game Design Course | Boost Creativity (Online)
This online short course is part of our Boost Creative Project which is part of the larger Crewe Creative Careers programme. All of these projects are designed to help young people from challenging circumstances to get into creative careers.
During this four week course, participants will take part in weekly creative activities, learn new skills, be inspired, learn about pathways into creative careers, share their experiences and skills with others and achieve an Arts Award Discover certificate.
- Coding Games In MakeCode Arcade.
- Pixel Art Character Design.
- Finding out about Game Design Organisations.
- Looking at different pathways into the industry.
As an incentive for young people to complete the course, they will receive a £5 amazon voucher for every session they complete. If they complete the full course they will receive an additional £5 voucher for each session they attended. Maximum of £40 vouchers per course.
We are looking for young people from Cheshire East with an interest in the creative sector, who would like to develop their creative and personal skill set. Applicants should be aged between 11 and 25, the course will run for two age ranges, 11-17 and 18-25. Young people from Crewe and young people in challenging circumstances will be prioritised.
Course Date: 5th August
Ages 11-17: 1pm-3pm
Ages 18-25: 4pm-6pm
Due to the sessions being of a digital nature you will need:
- A device connected to the internet, with the Zoom application downloaded.
- Another device connected to the internet (we recommend a computer or laptop)
