Boost Creativity 2021

Boost Creativity project is part of our Crewe Creative Careers programme, which is designed to help young people from challenging circumstances to get into creative careers.ย 

We have designed three online short creative courses, each focusing on a different creative subject:

  • Animation. (5 weekly sessions)
  • Film Making. (5 weekly sessions)
  • Graphic Design. (5 weekly sessions)

During each course, participants will take part in creative activities, learn new skills, be inspired, learn about pathways into creative careers, share their experiences and skills with others and achieve an Arts Award Discover certificate.

Incentivesย 

As an incentive for young people to complete the courses. For each course they sucessfully complete they will receive a ยฃ25 amazon vouchers per course.

Who?

We are looking for young people from Cheshire East with an interest in the creative sector, who would like to develop their creative and personal skill set. Applicants should be aged between 11 and 25, all of the courses will run for three age ranges, 11-13, 14-17 18-25. Young people from Crewe and young people in challenging circumstances will be prioritised.

Animation Course (Online)

Ages 11-25 From Cheshire East

Weekly 2-hour sessions are delivered on Mondayโ€™s during the Summer holidays.

Activities Include:

  • Stop-Motion Animations
  • Cartoon Animation
  • Finding out about Animation Organisations.
  • Looking at different pathways into the industry.
  • Many moreโ€ฆ

Course Dates: 26th July, 2nd August, 9th August, 16th August, 23rd August.

 

Filmmaking Course (Online)

Ages 11-25 From Cheshire East

Weekly 2-hour sessions are delivered on Tuesday’s during the Summer holidays.

Activities Include:

  • Storyboarding
  • Shooting Film
  • Video Editing
  • Finding out about Film Organisations.
  • Looking at different pathways into the industry.
  • Many moreโ€ฆ

Course Dates: 26th July, 2nd August, 9th August, 16th August, 23rd August.

 

Graphic Design Course (Online)

Ages 11-25 From Cheshire East

Weekly 2-hour sessions are delivered on Thursday’s during the Summer holidays.

Activities Include:

  • Vector Graphics
  • Using Fonts
  • Colour Schemes + Pallets
  • Finding out about Graphic Design Organisations.
  • Looking at different pathways into the industry.
  • Many moreโ€ฆ

Course Dates: 26th July, 2nd August, 9th August, 16th August, 23rd August.

 

Technical Requirementsย 

As these courses are delivered online via Zoom, you will require the following to participate:ย 

  • A device connected to the internet, to watch the tutorโ€™s video stream.ย 
  • Some courses may require additional materials, these details are available on the course pages.

How?

Click on the enroll links for the age range next to the relevant course above and apply via Eventbrite. Once you have applied your application will be reviewed. We will get in touch to let you know have been awarded a place on the course. If you are sucessful you will need to complete our consent forms which can be found below. Young people aged 11-17 will need a parent or guardian to apply on their behalf. We will be in touch with you ASAP to let you know if your application was successful.
