Overview | Luminate
If getting stuck into a load of creative projects and working as a team towards a digital light installation sounds like your thing, then Luminate is for you!
Following the success of our previous Luminate project, weโre back offering a free after-school project designed to provide adults from Crewe an opportunity to get hands-on with a range of creative, digital and art skills including:
- Coding
- Electronics
- Digital Light Art
Participants on the nine-week project will use the skills they learn to create a collaborative digital light artwork. They will then work towards their individual electronic light projects, which will be showcased at an exhibition-style show in a local public space towards the end of March.
We have put together creative light packs for each participant with a range of technology that they will use throughout the project to create their art displays. To enable all participants to continue their learning after the course, these packs are theirs to keep.
This activity is part of the Luminate Project, our collaboration with Crewe libraries and is funded by National Lottery and Arts Council England.

ย Who can get involved?
ย We are looking for young people from the Crewe area who haveย ย an interest in learning new digital creative skills. All attendeesย ย must be aged 18+
ย When does the project start?
ย This project is made up of nine weekly sessions held onย ย Wednesday evenings; running 6.30pm – 8.30pm:

Luminate – 11-17
Who can get involved?
We are looking for young people from the Crewe area who have an interest in learning new digital creative skills. All attendees must be between the ages of 11-17
When does the project start?
This project is made up of nine weekly sessions held on Wednesday evenings; running 4.00pm – 6.00pm:

Luminate – Family Session
Who can get involved?
We are looking for families from the Crewe area who are interested in working together on a creative crafting challenge. All young attendees must be aged 5+ and accompanied by at least one parent/guardian.
When does the project start?
These family activities will be held in the February half term, with sessions over three dates. There are 10 sessions, each lasting 45 minutes:
- 18th February – 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm
- 20th February – 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm
- 22nd February – 1:00pm
