Project Overview

Due to the success of our previous Halton Youth Provision, we’re expanding it further to run our current Creativity and Wellbeing in Halton project. Thanks to funding from Halton Borough Council we’re able to deliver a series of FREE six and seven-week creative courses for young people aged 10-16 who are from Halton. The focus of these sessions is increasing wellbeing by bringing young people from Halton together, to socialise with known and new friends alike whilst learning new skills.

In Halton, and indeed across the country, we can all empathise with the loss of socialisation and fun spaces for young people over the last couple of years.  Making friends and trying new things are inherently linked to any person’s wellbeing, perhaps even more so for young people.  It is more important than ever that young people in our community have the opportunities to socialise and have access to a variety of creative ways in which to express themselves. Mako Create will provide the opportunity for young people to engage in a variety of digital arts and technology workshops, enabling them to learn exciting new skills while socialising in a supportive environment.

Who can get involved?

We are looking for young people aged 10-16 from Halton, who have an interest in creative and digital arts, to take part in the project.

When does the project start?

Delivery of this project will start in September 2022, with two 6-week courses. The next duo of courses will run in 2023.

Where will the sessions take place?

Sessions are to be delivered in venues across Runcorn and Widnes. Check the Coming Up page of each course for specific venue information.

How do I sign up?

As with all our projects they appear on our Coming Up page.  Both the animation and Coding & Robotics courses are now sold out. The places for these activities were booked up really quickly, sign up to our mailing list and get email updates of new youth projects starting… we have two more launching in the very near future!
